Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh moringa leaves (or 3 tablespoons of dried leaves)
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cup natural honey (optional: panela or unrefined brown sugar)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- 1 small piece of grated ginger (optional, to enhance anti-inflammatory properties)
Preparation:
Boil the leaves:
Place the moringa leaves (fresh or dried) in a pot with the 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and boil over low heat for 10 minutes.
Strain the infusion:
Filter the liquid using a fine strainer to remove leaf debris.
Add the honey:
With the liquid still hot (but not boiling), add the honey and stir until completely dissolved. This also helps to preserve the syrup naturally.
Add lemon and ginger (optional):
You can add lemon juice and grated ginger to enhance the flavor and digestive benefits.
Packaging:
Allow to cool and store the syrup in a glass bottle with an airtight lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to 7-10 days.
Suggested dose (adults):
1 tablespoon on an empty stomach or before main meals.
Children: 1 teaspoon per day (consult pediatrician if in doubt).
What is moringa syrup used for?
Hepatic protection:
It helps to purify the liver and reduce inflammation thanks to its antioxidant compounds such as quercetin and chlorogenic acid.
Strengthening of the immune system:
It provides vitamin C, iron, calcium and chlorophyll, which strengthen the body's natural defenses.
Regulation of metabolism:
It can help in cases of fatty liver, chronic fatigue or slow metabolism.
Digestive and anti-inflammatory action:
Ginger and lemon (optional) support digestion and reduce heartburn, while moringa soothes inflammation.
Natural alternative to synthetic syrups:
Ideal for people who prefer natural remedies to chemical syrups.
